Ariel Garcia grew up in New York City - a place not always known for car culture. But his father was a mechanic and Ariel had Porsche in his bones from birth, it would seem. After a family event, Ariel realized that life is for the living and he went for it, buying a 2018 Porsche 911 Targa GTS. He drives it - a lot. When picking out options for it - of course, he spec'd the car very personally - he lamented over whether to get a manual transmission or the PDK. He went with PDK but wondered if the fun of driving a manual was something he needed back in his life. So he met up with Bob Canter, owner of a lovely 1984 911 Carrera Targa, to see how a vintage, air-cooled, manual-transmission 911 felt to him. And Bob got to try one of the newest Porsches - Ariel's 991 Targa. New or old, it's hard to argue with Ariel's love of the targa body style.
